Keyless Entry
Along with unlocking and opening your car doors, some key fobs can also be used to start the engine. To start the car with your key fob, simply press the unlock button several times in rapid sequence. The door locks should unlock and the red LED light will begin to flash. If it doesn't, the battery in your key fob could be dead and need replacing. Also, RF interference coming from nearby buildings could disrupt your system.
Another neat feature is that certain key fobs are equipped with a physical key to unlock the car (often only for the driver's door but occasionally for the boot too). They are usually accessible by flipping up the flap on the fob, or by pressing a button on the case. The key's physical part can be removed from a slot in the case to gain access to the lock.
Key fobs can be damaged by water, especially if the chips are exposed to salty or soapy water. In certain instances, key fobs will stop working completely due to an issue with the chip. In this situation the key fob has to be replaced by the dealer. Locksmiths are able to replace keys much faster and at a lesser cost than dealerships.

Certain key fobs have a dedicated remote engine start button (for instance Ford's key fob features an arrow-shaped circular shape that runs clockwise) which you must press in order to remotely start your car. Mazdas, for example, require you to lock the key first and then press the Start button.
If you're unable start your car, you could have a dead or weak battery inside the key fob. This is due to the fact that the batteries inside the key fob are no longer able to send an intense signal to the car's system.
If this is the case, you'll need to replace the batteries in the key fob or attempt changing the program. Door Locks

The Peugeot 3008 remote system allows you to lock or unlock your car by pressing a button on your key fob. Unlike the traditional key that has a key hole that is physical this key fob is able to store an encrypted copy of the car's key inside.
It does this by utilizing a radio signal that can only be sent when the key is at a certain distance from car. A solenoid in the door lock converts the electronic command to mechanical once the signal has been spotted. The rod is then turned to operate the door locks just as a physical key could.
There are a myriad of reasons for the Peugeot keyfob not locking or unlocking your car. The most frequent cause is an unresponsive coin battery which can be replaced in a matter of minutes. Other causes include worn buttons water damage or signal interference, or a defective electronic chip.
The key fobs of modern cars is not an exception. Modern cars require an extremely high level of precision in order to operate. The key fob might be improperly programmed, or suffer from an issue with the hardware that prevents it from responding to a signal from the vehicle. A locksmith certified by the ICRC can reprogram the key fob, and ensure that it works with your vehicle.
Immobiliser
Peugeot was among the first companies to incorporate an immobiliser in the key. This stops the vehicle from starting if it detects an untrue signal coming from the key to the car. G28 is a great feature in the beginning but as time passes, the chips can wear out and cause problems. This usually starts when you notice an alert on your dashboard that reads 'anti theft system active' or a warning lamp that reads 'immobiliser failure'.
Normally Peugeot dealerships have to be called to create and program replacement keys. A mobile locksmith will have dealer-standard equipment on their van. This means that they can make new Peugeot keys at home or by the roadside much quicker than dealers.
Generally Peugeot keys start to show issues as the key blade wears out. This wear can cause the mouth of the key to be able to enter the lock properly, causing further wear on the locks. Often simply swapping over a new blade can help solve the issue. It can also be beneficial to have the teeth of the key replaced so that they function more efficiently. Only a qualified auto locksmith can do this, but it can save you a lot of time and cash in the long run.
